Material Definition: This maintains and analyses detailed information about product components and allows consolidation of product information by fabric type, button size, pattern etc. All information required for audit trails and meeting other legal obligations, e.g. product country of origin, is maintained. Material suppliers and detailed cost information are also stored in this module, allowing the close monitoring and control of raw material costs and their real impact on total product costs.
Material Purchasing: This module manages the creation of purchase orders of sub components to material suppliers. It is also possible to link specific fabrics to selected wholesale orders to facilitate and support tracked or special orders.
Material Stock Management: In parallel with the stock management of finished goods, CIMS provides the ability to manage fabrics as 'piece' material, i.e. as individual tracked rolls of fabric, which may be cut and distributed to different factories.
Material Allocation: This automatically allocates the materials required to produce batches of products based on the bill of materials. It also allows fabrics and materials to be automatically allocated to factory orders. A particular feature of this module is its ability to optimise the selection of fabric pieces by length, width and shade.
