Product Data Management

Merchandising managers, marketing managers, distribution teams, suppliers and senior executives have immediate and easy access to the same, up-to-date and accurate product information. Products, stock, and sales can be analysed at any level and by any dimension of the product, giving an unparalleled degree of control and visibility.

Rich functionality includes costing, bill of materials, specifications, pack ratios, linked lines and much more. Products are defined to the level that is appropriate to the business. For example, accessories purchased as finished goods may be rapidly defined at a summary level, whereas garments designed in-house, and for which cloth may be sourced, are fully defined to a detailed level with a bill of materials (BOM).

Document & Image Management

A powerful state-of-the-art technology allows the attachment of documents and images such as spreadsheets, business plans, brochures, product pictures and sketches, directly to the product records.

Images and documents are stored within the CIMS Oracle database and not linked to a separate file structure. They are deployed across the application through Oracle's Intermedia technology. This allows photographs, graphics and live documents, e.g. MS Word or Excel, to be stored like any other structured data. These can then be used for visual reports, e-commerce, in-store, working documents, critical path reports etc.

Critical Path

People across the business need up-to-date information about product status and progress. Product information passes across the desks of designers, category and product managers, production directors and then on to suppliers, agents, manufacturers, shippers and warehouses. CIMS Critical Path enables clear e-commerce visibility and accurate monitoring as products pass through these many stages on their journey to the consumer.

The CIMS Critical Path module enables the introduction of well defined process and work flow control. Important milestones are clearly visible and missed deadlines or delays are immediately alerted. Rules allow insertion of default actions that must take place prior to key dates that will already be known, e.g. customer delivery dates or expected into the warehouse dates. Exception based reporting allows departments across the business to view all outstanding checkpoints, current and historic, and analyse performance.
