UNIFY DataGuard maintains the standby databases as replicated copies of the production CIMS databases. The standby databases are located at our remote data centres. Data is passed transaction by transaction over the UNIFY network using proven Oracle technology and an innovative WAN Accelerator and packet shaping technology that maximises your investment in existing UNIFY connections.

UNIFY DataGuard offers optimum data protection because it knows the internal state of the production database moment by moment and has the requisite knowledge of the Oracle internals to operate in asynchronous mode. Also, UNIFY DataGuard understands the CIMS application and does not attempt to replicate large temporary files that can easily be recreated from base data. CIMS routinely generates multi gigabyte work files. Finally, UNIFY DataGuard reliably protects the standby database from possible corruptions that may attempt to propagate from the live system.
